Ted R. Capener, vice president for university relations at the University of Utah, has been nominated to become the next board chairman of the Public Broadcasting Service. If elected at the next board meeting on Wednesday, Capener will succeed New York real estate investor-operator and WNET board member Alfred R. Stern, who has served four one-year terms as chairman.
