Carter Hawley Hale Stores Inc., Los Angeles, has announced that Martin M. Kalkstein, currently chairman and chief executive of the company’s Broadway-Southwest division, has been named an executive vice president of the corporation in the merchandising area. Thomas E. Dokter, currently president of Broadway-Southwest, succeeds Kalkstein as chief executive. Both appointments are effective May 1. Broadway-Southwest operates 11 stores in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico.
