CSUN Hockey Club Wins Playoff Opener

A Cal State Northridge club team scored four goals--three in the final 2:36--in the third period to defeat Cal State Fullerton, 6-4, in the opening round of the Pacific Collegiate Hockey Assn. playoffs Thursday night at Pickwick Ice Arena in Burbank.
Goals by Rob Glantz and Chris Monaster pulled the Matadors (13-8) even and Andy Pettise scored a short-handed goal with assists from Glantz and Scott Wright as Northridge erased a 4-2 deficit. Wright added an empty-net goal with six seconds to play.
Northridge plays Stanford tonight at Pickwick at 9:30.
