18-Year-Old Falls to His Death in Rock Quarry

An 18-year old man plummeted 200 feet to his death in a Sunland rock quarry early Sunday morning, Los Angeles police said.
Witnesses said the man, whose name was not released pending notification of relatives, had been drinking before he and friends decided to go and take a look at the quarry, Sgt. Ken Dionne said.
Dionne said the man slipped and fell to the bottom of the quarry, which contained about three feet of water. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
