WORLD : Man Dressed in Army Uniform Kills 1, Wounds 3 in Jerusalem

JERUSALEM — A man dressed in an army uniform opened fire with an Israeli-made Uzi submachine gun today outside the walls of Jerusalem’s Old City, killing one Palestinian and wounding three other Arabs, police said.
Israel Army Radio said the assailant fled into the nearby Mamilla quarter, a deserted area of abandoned buildings scheduled for demolition. Jerusalem District Police Cmdr. Josef Yehudi said the motive for the shootings was not known.
Yehudi said that shortly before 8 p.m. the gunman, wearing what appeared to be an old army uniform, started firing near the Jaffa Gate of the Old City. One passer-by also fired during the incident.
