FTC Probes Benetton’s Practices: The Federal Trade Commission is investigating certain business practices of Benetton Group SpA, focusing on the company’s relationships with some owners of U.S. Benetton boutiques, according to the Italian apparel maker. The company said the FTC is conducting a preliminary probe to determine whether Benetton is a franchiser that should have complied with federal franchise rules.
