Costa Mesa : Man Injured as Cycle Hits Rear of Vehicle

A Costa Mesa man was injured Saturday when his motorcycle went out of control and struck the rear of another vehicle in Costa Mesa, police said.
James Andrew Kelly, 33, was driving north on Newport Boulevard south of 16th Street when the accident occurred about 5:15 p.m., according to Sgt. John FitzPatrick. He wasn’t wearing a helmet, FitzPatrick said.
Kelly was taken by helicopter to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, where he was reported in stable condition late Sunday.
