A 74-year-old Arleta woman died Monday after being struck by a pickup truck while walking across a Pacoima intersection, police said.
The woman, whose name was not released until relatives could be notified, died at Pacifica Hospital of the Valley in Sun Valley about 50 minutes after the 7 a.m. accident, Los Angeles Police Officer James Ruffner said.
The truck was traveling south on Arleta Avenue and was making a left turn onto Van Nuys Boulevard when it hit the woman, who was walking in a crosswalk on Van Nuys Boulevard, Ruffner said.
The driver, who was uninjured, was not charged.
“He apparently just didn’t see her,” Ruffner said.
