Jarvi to Conduct Final L.A. Philharmonic Program
- Share via
Because of Andre Previn’s sore arm, the final subscription program of the Los Angeles Philharmonic season has been revised. It will be performed tonight and Friday at 8, and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
With Neeme Jarvi conducting--replacing the indisposed Previn--the program will open with the Los Angeles premiere of Arvo Part’s “Fratres, in Memory of Eduard Tubin.” Then, soprano Jessye Norman will sing Richard Strauss’ Four Last Songs. To close the program, the Estonian conductor will lead the orchestra in Sibelius’ Symphony No. 2.
