Racism

Bravo to the Vietnamese community for its quick and effective response to Westminster City Councilman Frank Fry Jr.’s offensive remarks.
The resulting uproar has clearly shown that racism will not be tolerated in this new fabric of American society that we are weaving here in Southern California.
I am a third generation Japanese American whose parents and grandparents along with other Japanese Americans were subject to overwhelming negative sentiments from political leaders, the press, organizations, and others during World War II.
Fortunately, they kept their faith in America and have since made enormous contributions to our American society.
The Vietnamese community with their talent, ideals, and determination will no doubt do the same.
