Corvettin, at 21-1 the longest shot in the field, rallied from last in the final eighth of a mile to beat Lori’s Light by a nose in Wednesday’s $28,000 feature race at Hollywood Park.
Corvettin, ridden by Eddie Delahoussaye, was timed in 1:17 for the 6 1/2-furlong race for fillies and mares.
Many Passes finished third, another 1 3/4 lengths back.
The winner paid $44.20, $13.40 and $4.20. Lori’s Light, ridden by Corey Black, paid $4.60 and $3. The show payoff on Many Passes, ridden by Alex Solis, was $3.
The wagering favorite of the crowd of 14,714, Sugarplum Gal, was never a factor and wound up fourth.
The victory was Corvettin’s second in an allowance event in her last three starts.
