Memphis State football Coach Charlie Bailey resigned amid an NCAA investigation of reports that two of his athletes lied about contacts with school boosters.
Bailey, 48, said: “I made a mistake on summer employment. It had nothing to do with recruiting.” He did not elaborate and could not be reached for further comment.
