General Manager Bobby Beathard of the Washington Redskins will not return to the team after his contract expires May 30, a Virginia television station reported.
The station reported that Beathard wants to get away from football and will return to his home on the West Coast upon the expiration of his contract.
The station also cited “squabbles” between Beathard and Coach Joe Gibbs as a factor in the general manager’s decision to leave the team that he has been a part of since 1978.
