Barge Crashes, Spills Gasoline in Hudson River

ATHENS, N.Y. — A barge loaded with barrels of unleaded gasoline smashed into a Hudson River channel marker, spilling more than 77,000 gallons into the water, officials said.
The environmental impact of the spill Saturday was under evaluation. A Coast Guard spokesman said that wind and rain were helping dissipate the gasoline.
