WORLD : Remote-Control Car Bomb Injures Former Greek Cabinet Minister

ATHENS — A car bomb this morning injured a former Cabinet minister in the Socialist government as he was being driven to work in Athens.
Former Public Order Minister George Petsos, 42, a senior member of the governing party, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors removed glass shards from his face and upper body. A hospital spokesman said Petsos was not seriously injured.
Police officials said the bomb, a remote-controlled device hidden in a parked sedan, was nearly identical to one that killed U.S. Navy Capt. William E. Nordeen in Athens last June.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for today’s blast, but police said they suspect November 17, an extreme Marxist terror organization that said it planted the bomb that killed Nordeen.
