Noel Harrison will play Professor Henry Higgins--a role made famous by his father, Rex--in the Opera Pacific production of Lerner and Loewe’s “My Fair Lady” June 23 to July 2 at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. Patti Cohenour, now starring in “The Phantom of the Opera” on Broadway, will play Eliza Doolittle, and Stephen Lehew will be Freddy. Other cast members will be announced.
The production, created in 1985 for the Michigan Opera Theatre, will be directed and choreographed by Lara Teeter. Sets will be by Robert O’Hearn and costumes by Charles Caine. Glen Clugston will conduct.
Cohenour was nominated for Tony and Drama Desk awards in 1986 for her performance as Rosa Bud in Rupert Holmes’ “The Mystery of Edwin Drood.” She is playing Christine Daae in “Phantom.” Lehew has appeared in Michigan Opera Theatre productions of “My Fair Lady” and Stephen Sondheim’s “Sweeney Todd.”
