WASHINGTON — The government today started a free telephone hot line service to provide the public with the latest information on the availability of experimental AIDS therapies.
The hot line number is 800-TRIALS-A. It will operate between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, the government’s National AIDS Program Office announced at a news conference.
The institute, part of the National Institutes of Health, coordinates the government’s AIDS research program. Clinical trials are studies of experimental drugs in humans.
