WASHINGTON — President Bush’s mother has been hospitalized near her home in Connecticut for an undisclosed illness, but doctors expect her to be able to return home Wednesday, the White House said today.
Dorothy Walker Bush, 87, was taken Monday to a hospital in Greenwich, Conn., the President’s press secretary, Marlin Fitzwater, said. He said he had no information about her illness.
“Doctors report that she had a good night and is expected to be able to go home tomorrow,” Fitzwater said.
Dorothy Bush traveled to Washington for her son’s inauguration Jan. 20, at which time the new President said she was being treated for a painful back ailment.
