THE PREPS : Cuccia Named to Coach Football at El Dorado
- Share via
Fred Cuccia, varsity football coach at California High School in San Ramon, has been named to a similar position at El Dorado High in Placentia.
Cuccia replaces Carl Sweet, who resigned last month after three seasons to become the school’s athletic director. El Dorado was 6-6 last season under Sweet.
Cuccia spent one season at California High, where he led the Grizzlies to a 3-7 record with three victories in the East Bay Athletic League.
Cuccia also has coached at Glendale Hoover and South Pasadena. He led Hoover to an 8-2 record in 1985, but the school forfeited eight victories for using an ineligible player.
South Pasadena forfeited six victories in 1987 under Cuccia, also for using an ineligible player. Cuccia was among 25 candidates who applied for the position.
