CSDH Hurler Breaks Record

Cal State Dominguez Hills pitcher Rick Davis set a California Collegiate Athletic Assn. record for most strikeouts in a season Saturday to help the Toros defeat visiting Cal State Northridge, 9-6, in their season finale. The Toros finished with a 16-29-2 record, 11-18-1 in the CCAA.
Davis struck out seven in four innings of relief to push his season total to 171. The old record of 170 was set by Mark Wiley of Cal Poly Pomona in 1971.
