Tweit Named AD at Newport Harbor

Eric Tweit, who has coached Newport Harbor High School’s track and field teams for 10 years, said Friday he has been named the school’s new athletic director.

Tweit will replace Bill Pizzica, who will retire in June after serving as the Sailor athletic director for nine years.

Tweit, 41, and a former track and field coach at Excelsior, Bellflower and St. Paul high schools, will continue to coach and teach English at Newport Harbor.
