Pairings for Playoffs Favor 3 Valley Schools

Simi Valley, Saugus and Montclair Prep high schools were seeded among the top four teams in their respective divisions when the Southern Section announced its baseball-playoff pairings Monday.
In all, 25 valley-area schools qualified for the Southern Section playoffs.
Simi Valley, the Marmonte League champion, was seeded third in the 5-A Division and will play host to St. Francis (11-7-1) in a first-round game Friday.
Saugus, the Golden League champion, was seeded third in the 3-A and will open with Hesperia.
Montclair Prep (15-5) is top-seeded in the 1-A and will face Serrano (12-9) in the first round.
