Chapman Wins NCAA Opener in Tennis

Olivier Amerlinck won his singles match and the doubles team of David Seline and Allen Juinio won its match Monday to lead Chapman College to a 5-4 victory over Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville in the opening round of the National Collegiate Athletic Assn. Division II team tennis championships.
Amerlinck, the team’s top player, defeated Marco Winter, 7-6, 7-5. Seline and Juinio, the No. 3 doubles team, defeated Chris Goff and Ed Abilez, 1-6, 6-4, 6-4. Chapman will meet top-seeded Hampton Institute in the semifinals today.
