S&L; Bailout

How typical of Conrad to twist the truth (“Read my FSLIC!” May 1). He depicts George Bush as the savings and loan scandal villain, when in fact Bush is the one who has to clean up the mess, in large part created by House Speaker Jim Wright (D-Tex.) and his sleazy S&L; cronies in Texas.
If Conrad were to rewrite the fairy tale, Little Red Riding Hood would be the one with long, furry ears and fangs.
