Fountain Valley’s Graham Loses in NCAA Doubles Final

Stanford’s Debbie Graham, from Fountain Valley, and Sandra Birch were defeated by Mississippi State’s Jackie Holden and Claire Pollard, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5), in the doubles final of the National Collegiate Athletic Assn. women’s tennis championships at Gainesville, Fla., Thursday.
Birch won the individual championship by defeating Southern Methodist’s Jennifer Santrock, 6-3, 6-3.
Graham and Birch helped top-ranked Stanford win its fourth consecutive NCAA team championship Sunday.
