Police are seeking information about a hit-and-run accident early Saturday morning that left a 17-year-old La Habra boy in critical condition.
Guadalupe Benavidez was in “extremely critical condition” at Whittier Presbyterian Trauma Center, La Habra Police Sgt. Phil Stufflebean said.
According to the only known witness to the incident, Benavidez was crossing Euclid Street north of Lambert Road about 3:30 a.m. after attending a party in the area when he was struck by the car, Stufflebean said.
The witness told police that the vehicle was a full-size, possibly brown, four-door sedan that did not stop after the collision. One of the auto’s headlights was apparently knocked out.
“We’d certainly appreciate it if anybody who has information on this vehicle or the accident would contact us,” Stufflebean said.
The La Habra Police Department phone number is (213) 905-9750, he said.
