Driver Sought in Death of Man Hit by Pickup

A25-year-old Sun Valley man was killed in a hit-and-run accident at a North Hollywood intersection, police said.

Ricardo Estrada was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank immediately after the accident about 8 p.m. Saturday at Tujunga Avenue and Hartland Street, said Officer Mel Scholl of the Los Angeles Police Department. Estrada died a short time later, Scholl said.

A witness told police that Estrada was walking east across Tujunga Avenue when he was struck by a red Toyota pickup truck heading north. The driver of the truck failed to stop and was last seen heading west on Vanowen Street, Scholl said.
