The Preps : Southern Section Tennis Playoffs : Unseeded Dana Hills Takes On Newport Harbor

The Dana Hills High School boys’ tennis team plays at Newport Harbor in the quarterfinal round of the Southern Section 4-A playoffs.
David Roditi, a surprising freshman singles player, has led Dana Hills. He won the South Coast League singles title and has advanced to the round of 16 in the Southern Section singles play.
Dana Hills came into the playoffs unseeded despite a 15-3 record and the South Coast League championship. The Dolphins have beaten Santa Ana Valley and Loyola in the first two rounds.
They’ll have their toughest competition against Newport Harbor. The Sailors are the No. 4-seeded team and are 15-7. Brett Hansen-Dent, who also advanced in Southern Section singles play, is Newport Harbor’s leading player. The match will begin at 3:15 p.m.
In other 4-A matches, third-seeded Corona del Mar (18-4) plays at Camarillo (18-4) and unseeded El Toro (21-3) plays at second-seeded Beverly Hills (16-6).
In 3-A matches, top-seeded Woodbridge continues to roll along and plays at Burbank (19-4). The Warriors (17-4) are coming off a 17-1 victory at Central Friday.
Second-seeded Laguna Beach (19-3) plays at unseeded La Quinta (20-2).
In 2-A, fourth-seeded Valencia (17-4) plays host to unseeded Righetti (24-3).
In 1-A, Santa Margarita (11-3), with only freshmen and sophomores, plays host to Atascadero (10-10).
