A burglar seemingly in search of glory broke into the Montclair, N.J., home of Olympia Dukakis and stole the Oscar statuette she won last year for best supporting actress in “Moonstruck.” The Oscar was stolen May 19 from its place in Dukakis’ kitchen, but the name plate was left behind. Nothing else seemed to be missing. “It is very bizarre,” said Dukakis’ husband, actor Louis Zorich. “I wonder if a film freak took it.” The gold-plated statuette has a retail value of about $57, Dukakis said, though it would be worth more to a collector. The actress, the cousin of former Democratic presidential nominee Michael Dukakis, is currently in Hollywood filming “Dad,” which co-stars Jack Lemmon and Ted Danson. She won the Oscar for best supporting actress as Cher’s mother in the 1987 film.
