An unidentified Latino man died Monday morning as the result of injuries suffered in a two-car accident Sunday night in Pacoima.
The man--described by police as about 20 years old, 5 feet 9 inches, 180 pounds, with brown hair and eyes--was driving south on the wrong side of the Laurel Canyon Boulevard at about 9 p.m. when he crashed head-on into another car. He was taken to Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, where he died the next morning.
Tests showed the man’s blood alcohol level was 0.24%, almost 2 1/2 times the legal limit to drive, Officer James Ruffner said. Ruffner said the dead man had no identification in his clothing or in the car, which is registered to a Pacoima restaurant that was closed when officers investigated.
The driver of the other car, Gloria Moran, 50, of Thousand Oaks, was treated for a bruised forehead and released from Holy Cross.
