For the second year in a row, KHJ-TV Channel 9 will donate air time and production staff to broadcast a “SANE Kids Say No Telethon” in support of the L.A. County Sheriff Department’s drug education program. This year’s telethon will air July 22 from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., and will be broadcast live from the Queen Mary/Spruce Goose Entertainment Center in Long Beach. Numerous celebrities, including Stephanie Edwards, Edward James Olmos, Carmen Zapata, Anne Jeffreys, Cesar Romero, Charles Durning, along with all the KHJ-TV news anchors will appear on the telethon to tell about the SANE (Substance Abuse Narcotics Education) program.
