Rinaldi Knocked Unconscious in Fall on Court

WIMBLEDON, England — Kathy Rinaldi of Amelia Island, Fla., was knocked unconscious and taken to a hospital Monday after she fell during a doubles match at Wimbledon, but she was released after receiving treatment.
Rinaldi, 22, fell and hit her head as she tried to avoid a hard shot. Rinaldi was helped from the court and taken to St. George’s Hospital, where she was treated for a concussion.
Rinaldi and Barbara Potter of Woodbury, Conn., were playing a second-round match against Eva Pfaff of West Germany and Manon Bollegraf of the Netherlands. Pfaff and Bollegraf, leading, 7-6, 2-2, at the time, won by default.
