AUSTIN, Tex. — In an effort to boost the sale of Texas natural gas, Railroad Commissioner John Sharp said today he will co-host a gas conference in Los Angeles next week along with California Assembly Speaker Willie Brown.
“Our goal will be to encourage California utilities and consumers to purchase clean-burning Texas natural gas to meet their rapidly increasing energy demands,” Sharp said.
Sharp said the Los Angeles natural gas conference, Wednesday through Friday, and two earlier conferences in Boston and Houston are designed to increase the sale of Texas gas, which is known to be more economical and better for the environment than oil or coal.
