McCorkle Leads Capistrano Valley in First Round

Scott McCorkle scored 23 points to lead Capistrano Valley High School to a 75-46 victory over University in a first-round game at the Capistrano Beach basketball tournament Thursday.
John Molle scored 25 points to lead Irvine to a 66-52 victory over Anaheim in another first-round game.
Other first-round scores: Tracy 69, Swink 46; Western 65, Fallbrook 50; Dana Hills 53, St. Francis (Costa Rica) 41; Savanna 53, Don Lugo 42; Clovis West 61, San Clemente 53; Mater Dei 100, Antioch 54 (at Dana Hills).
In second round games on Thursday, Swink defeated University, 91-84, and St. Francis defeated Fallbrook, 66-65 in overtime.
