Magazine Honors Claremont Student

Edward Tessier of Claremont has been named one of 20 winners of the 1989 Time magazine College Achievement Award.
Tessier, a junior at Pomona College and a quadriplegic, was honored for community service, including forming a Panel for Architectural Review to ensure that all campus building projects are accessible to the disabled and for organizing handicap awareness groups for student leaders.
The award includes a $3,000 scholarship.
