Brea : Commission Votes to Expand Landfill
- Share via
The Orange County Planning Commission on Tuesday voted 4 to 1 to recommend an expansion of the Olinda Canyon landfill, which is scheduled to be at capacity in 1994.
The commission did not follow the recommendation of the County Waste Management Commission, which last week recommended that further studies be conducted on potential landfill sites in Gypsum Canyon and West Fremont Canyon, in addition to Olinda. The planning commissioners said the Board of Supervisors should decide which landfill site should receive further study.
Supervisors are scheduled to consider a location for a landfill in North Orange County at an Aug. 16 meeting.
