Rancho Park : Storm Drains to Be Built
Construction is scheduled to start next month on a system of storm drains along and near the southern edge of Rancho Park Golf Course.
The system, designed to prevent flooding during winter storms, will take two to three months to complete, according to an announcement from County Supervisor Kenneth Hahn’s office. Four streets in the area--Lorenzo Drive, Cresta Drive, Monte Mar Drive and Cresta Place--will be closed to through traffic some of the time while the work is being done.
The project involves underground placement of about 4,300 feet of concrete pipe from 24 to 54 inches in diameter. The storm drain will connect with an existing city of Los Angeles drain beneath Butterfield Road at Patricia Avenue.
