Micropolis, a Chatsworth producer of computer data-storage systems, reported a $10.6-million loss for the second quarter, compared with a year-earlier profit of $1.17 million.
In the three months that ended June 30, the struggling company said its revenue fell 19%, to $79.3 million from $97.5 million. For the first half of 1989, Micropolis lost $23.9 million, compared with an $8.36-million profit a year earlier.
Micropolis said it was continuing to cut its operating and materials costs to narrow its losses. But the lower expenses “are not expected to reduce operating losses significantly” until 1990, the company said.
