CHARLESTON, S.C. — Packages containing more than 150 pounds of cocaine have been found on South Carolina beaches and in coastal waters in the last two weeks, an official said Monday.
James McGivney, agent in charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration in Columbia, said the Styrofoam-wrapped bundles may have been lost by smugglers attempting an air drop. He estimated the street value of the contents at $7.5 million.
