Dale Dowers, former president of British home builder Barratt Irvine, has moved over to Costain Homes Inc. in Newport Beach, another British builder.
He replaces Jack M. Dangelo, who was fired. Dangelo said he was fired in a dispute with Costain over his outside business dealings and the way he operated the company.
Dangelo said the dispute was a result of a cultural misunderstanding over business practices.
Back at Barratt, the directors of parent company Barratt Developments PLC named Mark Frazier chairman of Barratt American. Frazier was already president of the U.S. operation. Barratt Irvine is a division of Barratt American.
And Barratt said Thursday that it is opening a new Los Angeles division, naming Jack Becker president. Becker was vice president of construction for Barratt’s San Diego operation.
