Eastern Adds Flights: Eastern Airlines, crippled for months by a machinists strike, increased its daily flights from 225 to 350, bolstered by 291 newly hired pilots and 750 more waiting in the wings. The airline had originally set a goal of 390 flights by Tuesday and acknowledged that it had to modify the new schedule because of a shortage of pilots.
