Santa Monica : Exhibiting the Art of Flight
- Share via
“Fly by Night,” an 8-by-10-foot painting by artist Peter Alexander depicting an aerial view of Santa Monica Bay at night, will be installed today at the Santa Monica Airport administration building, 3233 Donald Douglas Loop South.
Alexander, a Venice resident, was one of five finalists in last year’s “Art in the Air” competition for public art at the Santa Monica Airport.
Antique aircraft and art with a flight theme will be displayed during the reception, which will run from 4 to 7 p.m.
“This is the first step in the city’s program to bridge the gap between art and technology,” said Hank Dittmar, airport administrator.
