A young man grabbed a Fountain Valley woman’s purse as she was loading groceries into her car, dragging her across the supermarket parking lot until she let go, police said.
The woman, whose name was not released, was accosted as she was putting groceries into the trunk of her car at 10:22 p.m. Wednesday outside the Albertson’s at 18100 Brookhurst St., Police Capt. Bill Denisi said.
She was dragged a short distance across the asphalt before she released the purse, suffering scrapes on her wrists and ankles, Denisi said.
The thief, who left in a white Dodge hatchback, was described as between 18 and 20 years old; 5 feet, 6 inches tall; weighing about 140 pounds, and having black hair, Denisi said.
