County Teams Advance in Water Polo Nationals

SAN DIEGO — Newport A won twice and Newport B split two matches Friday in the first round of the Senior Men’s National Water Polo championships at UC San Diego’s Canyon View pool.
Newport B won the first match of the day, 9-8, over the New York Athletic Club, before losing to Newport A, 9-8.
Newport A then defeated then New York Athletic Club, 12-6.
Newport A plays Bruin Polo today at 10:30 a.m. and Stanford at 5:30 p.m. Newport B plays Stanford at 9:20 a.m. and Bruin Polo at 3:10 p.m.
