New York rock ‘n’ roll station WNEW-FM will broadcast two editions of its 6-10 a.m. show from Lenin Stadium in Moscow this week, said to be the first time a rock station has broadcast a morning drive-time program from the Soviet Union. Dave Herman, the station’s morning disc jockey for 18 years, and his colleagues will do live broadcasts Thursday and Friday as part of their weeklong visit to the Soviet Union. The programs will include interviews with Soviet citizens and with the rock group Bon Jovi, which will be performing in Lenin Stadium Sunday during the Moscow Peace Festival. That concert will be broadcast as part of a nationwide Westwood One Network special.
