Diodes, a Chatsworth maker of semiconductors, posted a loss of $3.02 million for its fiscal fourth quarter on a 10% decline in sales.
The loss in the quarter that ended April 30 contrasted with net income of $144,142 a year earlier. Diodes’ sales fell to $3.10 million from $3.45 million.
The loss stemmed mostly from a one-time, $2.6-million charge related to Diodes’ decision to end production at its NAE Inc. subsidiary in Lynn, Mass., which had been losing money. Diodes said it expects to report a profit for its fiscal first quarter that ended July 31.
For its full fiscal year, Diodes lost $2.91 million contrasted with a profit of $621,326 the previous year. Diodes’ annual sales fell 9% to $13.8 million from $15.2 million.
