Terminal Data Corp. Reports 3rd-Quarter Loss

Terminal Data Corp. reported a loss of $1.4 million on sales of $4.4 million for the third quarter that ended June 30, compared to a $2.2-million loss on sales of $6.7 million during the same period a year earlier.

The Moorpark company, which makes devices that transform documents into images that can be stored electronically or on film, said it continued to lose money because of a decline in orders for the company’s microfilming products. But Terminal Data President David Krar Hutton, citing substantial recent orders for one line of products, predicted that the decline would end soon.

In June, Hutton forecast that Terminal Data would report a loss for the fiscal year, which will end Sept. 30.
