American Mobile Opens Door to Fleet-Call Merger

American Mobile Systems of Sherman Oaks said it agreed to negotiate a merger worth as much as $75 million with Fleet-Call of Bloomfield, N.J.
According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Fleet-Call may acquire American Mobile for up to $75 million at any time prior to June 30, 1991. Both companies operate mobile-radio systems.
In the meantime, American Mobile said it agreed to sell various of its mobile-radio operations across the country to Fleet-Call for a total of $12.3 million.
