A North Park man was stabbed to death in his apartment, allegedly by a friend who was angered by the man’s treatment of his wife, police said Monday.
Officers responded at 10:41 p.m. Sunday to an unrelated incident in an apartment in the 4500 block of Idaho Street. As they were leaving, they saw two men fighting on a second-story landing, where one stabbed the other several times in the chest, San Diego homicide Lt. Bill Taylor said.
Lucious Bernard Caroline, 35, was pronounced dead about an hour later at Mercy Hospital.
Odis Crowel, 35, was arrested on suspicion of murder and was being held in County Jail downtown.
Earlier Monday, officers answered a report of a domestic quarrel at Caroline’s apartment. Crowel apparently was a friend of the couple and was upset with the victim’s treatment of his wife, Taylor said.
