Time Inc. announced changes in the editorial leadership at three of its magazines: People, Life and Money. The changes were described as being part of the periodic editorial transition at the magazines and as unrelated to Time’s recent acquisition of a controlling interest in Warner Communications Inc. James R. Gaines, formerly managing editor at People, will become managing editor at Life. He replaces Patricia Ryan, who is leaving the company. Landon Y. Jones, managing editor of Money, replaces Gaines as managing editor of People. Succeeding Jones at Money will be Frank Lalli, who had been Money’s executive editor.
